A brief look at using dot and FlowRMM to find, verify, and install a graphics driver, showing how conversational AI assists in everyday IT operations.

When I first started in IT, I'd hunt down drivers and burn them onto CDs.
This morning, I asked dot to help find one for my laptop.
Windows Settings was drawing over itself, and I hadn't been able to find the graphics driver I needed. Through FlowRMM, dot checked the laptop model and the driver Windows was using, then found Lenovo's official package for that model.
We checked the file's SHA-256 hash and digital signature. I approved putting the installer on my Desktop, then ran it with guidance.
Afterward, we checked Windows again. It reported the new driver, version 31.0.21914.7005, with an OK device status.
Settings was drawing normally after the reboot. The laptop still had some lag, so there was more to investigate.
The useful part was being able to describe the problem and keep working through it in one conversation. dot helped with the driver hunt and the checks. I stayed involved in the decisions and installation.
It's a small example of how we're using FlowRMM on our own computers.
We build the systems described here. A short call is usually enough to tell whether it's worth building.
